The construction and earthmoving equipment is one of the key components for propelling India's overall infrastructure development. India indeed, is one of the fastest growing markets for construction and earthmoving equipment globally. However, the technology has not been used to its optimum to enhance the productivity and efficiency.
Despite the tremendous potential, many firms are struggling due to a shortage of skilled workers, weak productivity growth, and huge waste. The construction engineering sector is one of the least digitized industries worldwide and has resultantly failed to significantly increase productivity in decades while productivity in other sectors has grown multifold.
Technologies such as AI, IoT, Automation are making a great impact due to its future possibilities in the whole construction process. AI, IoT & Automation enabled applications in the construction sector are at a burgeoning stage and presumed to witness their integration for the benefit of project planning, scheduling and inventory purposes.
It has become a critical part of improving processes in the construction equipment sector and considered to support the construction in mitigation and repetitive and existing challenges of accuracy margin, safety concerns, project schedule which is further presumed to drive the market growth in the coming years.
With this background, Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing a focused session on "AI, IOT and Automation" on 11th February 2019 from 1400 - 1700 hrs to deliberate on Technology trend radar and changing value chain model and Technology implications of AI, IoT & Automation and impact assessment in the construction and equipment business.
